Bachelor of Law (LLB Hons), University of Malaya — First Class Honours, recipient of the Syed Kechik Foundation Gold Medal. Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2024.
Biography
Chi Chian graduated with First Class Honours in Law in 2023, receiving the Syed Kechik Foundation Gold Medal from Universiti Malaya.
During her pupillage she specialised in corporate law, and expanded her practice into litigation, dispute resolution and conveyancing after joining the Firm. At university she excelled in moot competitions — Second Overall Best Team and Best Written Submission in the Bar Council Women's Rights Committee Online Moot Competition 2021.
Beyond her legal work, Chi Chian actively engages in current affairs and regularly shares her insights through her column with Malaysiakini. During her year with the Firm she assisted in winning several interlocutory applications and defended against a developer on unpaid late payment interests granted under the Strata Tribunal.
